Homestay at Chikmaglur

We stayed at beautiful coffee estate  named Foothills homestay at Chikmaglur. It is owned by Mr. SriKanth gowda ,Rakshit's father.

We were welcomed by 5 daschunds, a pet country dog which was their boss and 2 more dogs in the kennel. It was quite cool and was surrounded by hills on all sides. We had booked a family room. It was well maintained and good. There was a maid Sunanda and Mrs. Gowda. Nice couple.

We had a tasty home cooked food. The place had positive vibes. There was an aquarium for fishes and one for a turtle. There was aTulsi plant on the east side that had a  nice boundary around it.

Next day we had tea, breakfast etc. but no lunch. So we had to go to the city to take lunch. While going down the way we saw a peacock, we stopped the car to take its picture. In a few minutes it flew away but what we saw!!!!! a snake, golden one wriggling through the road. JUNGLE ADVENTURE!!!!

Aditi was totally startled by this .

Then we reached the city, got pizza packed for us. I purchased a drawing book and colour pencils as the surrounding near the homestay had awakened the inner artist in me.

As soon as we came back I started drawing the picture. First one was ok as I was using crayons after a long time.

Next day we decided to stay at the homestay only. Did'nt have lunch so they prepared snacks  and as it was 13th Jan , Lohri, we decided to enjoy a Bonfire . The night was starry. It felt as if stars were tucked on a black velvet. It had been so long since we saw a clear sky. After that we had dinner and came back to our room. The food was so good ,nutritious and tasty.

We started for return journey on 14th. But wait on 13th night we were welcomed by a lizard on the roof. And early morning there was a loud sound of something like a gunfire!!!!

Started at 7 a.m. in morning and decided to stay at Kurnool. We had booked a hotel there. This time we took the route through Hasan, Chikbalapur to NH44. It was not that tiring.

Anshu had his first highway driving in this trip. He drove for about 2 hours .

By the time we reached Anantpur it was almost 5 p.m. We took a halt a tea stall somewhere after crossing KIA. He served us Masala chai which was very refreshing. We asked Aditi to play music. She played our favourite songs and the 2 hour drive ,though it was dark, was awesome.

We reached Kurnool by 8.30 or so. The town is full of pig population. When we reached the hotel, we saw the notice that said , " we are closed." but that was for restaurant, it's room stay was at the back lane. Finally we were relaxed to see a clean and cosy room.

Next morning we started for Hyderabad and reached here by 1 p.m. Got our lunch packed from Kamat. Had it after reaching home safe and sound. Thanked God for a wonderful experience!!!!!!!
